The Artesian, Langham Hotel, London

10th February 2023

Artesian is a multi-award winning cocktail bar, named after the original 360-feet deep well underneath the hotel.

The bar is located on the ground floor of the opulent 5* Langham Hotel.

The concept takes its eclectic inspiration from the Victorian cabinets of curiosities featuring hidden textures, details and references.

The whimsical interior is colour drenched in purple from the aged leather seating, finished with metal studwork, the decorative table top prints, the bold patterned rugs and styled floral arrangements sitting centrally on each of the tables.

The interior is set within a traditional Victoria backdrop with large bay windows, decorative silver-leaf mirror jewelled wall panelling and intricate cornice detailing. An earthy, timber Oriental styled pagoda piece encases the back-bar, which sits proudly within the space showcasing the many lacquer and spirits on offer, enticing you to try one of their celebrated cocktails.

The front bar has been designed with a subtle purple veined marble, wrapped with a brass metal studded band. This sits on an abstract butterfly printed panel.

Oversized lamps (some with bronzed horse heads for the base), frame the seating areas and excessive, lantern-esc, antique gold, hand-crafted chandeliers fill the ceiling allowing for a seamless softly lit, day-to-night transition.

Artesian has partnered with chef Angelo Sato to create cuisine that has been inspired by traditional Japanese dishes.

Opening hours: 4pm - 12am, Sunday to Wednesday and 4pm - 1am, Thursday to Saturday.
