1 Hotel Mayfair gives you an enormous sense of calm as soon as you walk through the tall entrance doors.
As soon as you arrive you are greeted by a stunning, suspended, real moss chandelier. The chandelier is made from 50,000 strands of moss which drapes down framing the lobby floor.
Sustainability is at the heart of this hotel and it can be felt throughout the interior. There are 1300 individual plants on site including live walls which exist within stonework on the stairs, moss within the lift ceiling panels and moss walls in each guestroom.
The interior materials use natural and neutral, timbers and stones contribute to the serenity and escapism that you feel upon entering the hotel.
The reception desk has been craved from a beautiful sing tree which was purposely sourced and found in a reception desk hewn from the trunk of a giant oak tree in a Sussex forest and a wall of Yorkshire stone.
The hotel was two buildings refurbished into one.
